Connect, Grow, and Serve

Our Top Seven Values at Cornerstone.

The Top Seven Values of
Cornerstone.

1.     God’s Glory.
More than anything else you hear at Cornerstone, we pray that you hear that we value our God and all that He magnificently is in His holiness, mercy, grace, beauty, splendor, power, and righteousness. We believe that the Giver is so much greater than His gifts, even the gift of eternal life, as precious as that gift is to us.

2.     Souls and the Joy of Eternal Life.
Our number ONE priority is and always will be the rescuing of souls for the glory of God. We intend to see every member of our individual families (nuclear families) saved from hell and longing for heaven, then we want to reach our extended families, then our neighbors, co-workers and friends.

3.     The Spiritual Growth of Every Believer-Discipleship
God told us to make disciples, not just converts, so at Cornerstone we structure pathways for spiritual growth for every believer starting with our Heartbeat Bible Studies which clearly lay out God’s conditions for salvation making every person weigh the costs before surrendering to Jesus Christ as Lord. Each believer is then encouraged to take progressive steps of learning and Christ-likeness to become a reproducing disciple of Jesus Christ.

4.     The Home.
We see the home as God’s primary means of training the next generation for Christ and for raising up children who will raise up children to love God and follow Him with all of their heart, so that they will say as Joshua did, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” We highly value fathers as spiritual heads of their families and we honor and value mothers who are fulfilling God’s highest calling as they nurture the next generation of Christ-followers for the glory of God.

5.     The Word of God.
We believe that the Bible is God’s book of answers and believe it is totally sufficient to address every thorny issue facing today’s adults and youth. Therefore, we preach mainly New Testament books from beginning to end since the New Testament is the book that guides Christians today and we teach the Old Testament as a resource to learn more about Jesus as revealed in the New Testament.

6.     The Church.
We value the Body of Christ because Jesus values His bride enough to shed His blood just for her. Therefore, we will sacrifice and share to meet one another’s physical and spiritual needs, fulfilling all the “one-another” commands given to us in Scripture so that we will grow together in Christ-likeness. We will do everything in our power to maintain the unity God has given us so that the world may see Jesus in our love for one another.

7.     Life.
We value the sanctity of life both of the pre-born and the aged. We will speak out against the worldview which holds that life is cheap and expendable. We will do all that we can to elect God-fearing pro-life public servants who will use their authority to promote a culture of life by protecting the rights of the pre-born, the elderly, and the infirm.
